Q. Can you help me find a mentor?
A. Maybe! The Working Lunch runs a yearly program, with applications opening at the start of the year and closing in February/March. Outside of the window where applications are open, we sadly don’t have the resources to help individuals find a mentor. We encourage you to sign up for our mailing list so you don’t miss out on opportunities to apply for the core program, and other projects like our Scholars program.
Q. I applied to be a mentee/mentor but haven’t heard back. What should I do?
A. Thank you for applying! We receive a large volume of applications for the program, and we try to dedicate time and care to each applicant.
If you haven’t heard from us by mid-March, your application is most likely unsuccessful for the core program. However, we don’t send batch rejection emails immediately as we consider each applicant for other opportunities, introductions and feedback.
If you applied, you will hear from us, it just may take some time as we’re a very small team responding to hundreds of people who all deserve time and attention!
Q. I’m a company/organisation/individual and would like to financially support The Working Lunch. What should I do?
Email us! We’d love to discuss the multiple opportunities for partnership we have in the international program.
Q. I’m a man and would like to support The Working Lunch. What can I do?
A. Thank you! There are lots of ways you can help. The Working Lunch coordinates a slew of projects for our mentees to get experience, skills and opportunities. Drop us an email to discuss being part of mock job interviews, helping mentees attend conferences, resume reviews and more.
